Midway through the night I awoke to silence. At first I thought the snow had stopped, but a quick trip out on the deck showed that the silence stemmed from 4" of sound-deadening snow on the deck.
After a breakfast of toasted cheese bagels with scrambled eggs, ham and more cheese, we loaded up the dinghy and motored back to Whittier. The "soup bowl" at the confluence of Passage Canal, College Fiord and Blackstone Bay provided a little choppy bounce to return trip - a bounce that the porpoises decided to join us for off the port side.
As we rounded the last corner in the harbor the road crew was just finishing plowing and sanding the ramp, alleviating the worry of not being able to get the boat out of the water.
